My parents founded an Amdram group in Kent many years ago, which is still going strong. To avoid paying for childcare, I was taken, along with my two brothers, to every audition, rehearsal and performance. When we became old enough, we were all expected to take on acting roles. I stopped that many years ago but when I saw the relaunch of the Players in 2023, I thought I would see if it would be fun. I was Front of House for 'There goes the Bride', with my wife, Elaine. I then took on Lights and Sounds for 'Amdram is Murder'' at the Memorial Hall. I also took 3 parts at 'We will Remember Them'. I was Gawain in the King Arthur Show and really enjoyed the experience. The audience reactions were brilliant. I did not expect to be so involved but really enjoy it and have made some new friends. My other pastimes are golf and running, so I can't always make rehearsals.
